INSTRUCTIONS

Ball Placement/Set Up

1. Distance Matters

  • Softball: Position the machine 35'–40' from home plate
  • Baseball: Position the machine 45'–50' away

The farther the machine, the more curve you'll see.

2. Aim for the Strike Zone

Line up the machine so a fastball would cross the middle of the plate.

3. Machine Setup by Type

  • Single-Wheel: Just aim straight and set your preferred speed.
  • Two-Wheel: Set the top wheel equal to or faster than the bottom.
  • Three-Wheel: Set the top two wheels equal, and the bottom wheel equal to or faster than the top ones.

4. Choose Your Pitch

Refer to the Multi-Curve pitching guide for ball placement to throw curveballs, screwballs, rise balls, or drop balls.

Note: Instructions are based on right-handed hitters.

Rise and drop ball results may vary depending on the feeder length.

Curveball

Place the ball with grooves vertically on the right — the pitch will break to the outside of the plate.

Screwball

Place the ball with grooves vertically on the left — the pitch will break to the inside of the plate.

Riseball

Place the ball with grooves facing down horizontally — the pitch will lift.

Dropball

Place the ball with grooves facing up horizontally — the pitch will drop.
